Next City has an immediate opening for a full-time Office Operations Assistant who will be responsible for day-to-day business operations and support all aspects of the organization. Interest/experience in securing paid sponsorships and ad sales as well as event planning are key to this position. Our new Office Operations Assistant is an enthusiastic team player with a sense of humor and comfort working in an innovative non-profit environment.

-Assists with weekly financial activities including preparing and tracking invoices, managing bank activity, and coding credit card statements
-Administers and is central contact for sponsored and underwritten content, and ads; and works with staff to coordinate sponsorships and content
-Manages online jobs board and special projects as assigned
-Maintains organized office environment; as receptionist is the lead welcomer
-Coordinates meetings and travel; assists at local Next City events
-Serves as liaison with Board of Directors, scheduling meetings and facilitating Board engagement
-Assists President and staff in events and fundraising as requested; leads projects as assigned
-Assists President with transcribing interviews, creating presentations and other tasks
-May be asked to produce in-house graphic design, including designs and printed promotional materials (print and digital) consistent with organizational style guide
-Bachelor's degree OR 2-4 years of office experience; nonprofit experience a plus
-Exceptional organizational and time management skills
-Computer skills including Mac proficiency, Microsoft Office, Gmail, Dropbox, social media, basic graphic design (Adobe InDesign preferred)
-Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
-Attention to detail and time management; ability to meet deadlines
-Anticipates needs and problems and generates solutions
-Must have a valid passport and be willing to travel; driver’s license a plus
-Interest in urban affairs is a plus
This is a full time, salaried position that requires 40 hours a week in Next City's office in Center City, Philadelphia. Salary range: $27,500 - $32,500 per year with generous benefits package.
