Position Summary ASSIGNMENT DESCRIPTION: Systems Engineers apply a structured approach to design and implementation of systems and processes. They capture and translate mission and customer requirements in order to transform them into capabilities, testing, and validation of services. Systems Engineers analyze and allocate requirements to systems architecture components and oversee the development, testing, and validation of systems and services. They also coordinate the integration of systems and services into enterprise architecture and oversee deployment. Additional Position Info ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: NGA is seeking high performing, self-motivated, service-oriented persons with knowledge skills and experience leading people in delivering end-to-end system engineering for IT capabilities. The successful applicant is dependable and possesses a high degree of initiative. The incumbent must have demonstrated strong leadership and strong management skills and is able to work independently in coordination with others in a fast paced environment. Additionally, they must be able to manage multiple complex situations and challenges while executing sound judgment and display the NGA core values. The incumbent will provide technical recommendations to senior leadership on alternatives for NGA IT initiatives. They will also lead technical collaboration with Intelligence Community (IC) Partners to leverage community capabilities. Mandatory Qualification Reqs MANDATORY QUALIFICATION CRITERIA: For this particular job, applicants must meet all competencies reflected under the Mandatory Qualification Criteria to include education (if required). Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Systems Engineering, Engineering, Engineering Management, Information Technology, Mathematics, System Engineering, or a related discipline. -OR- B. Combination of Education and Experience: A minimum of 30 semester (45 quarter) hours of college coursework in any area listed in option A, plus experience working in a System Engineering discipline or in a closely-related field that demonstrates the ability to successfully perform the tasks associated with this work. As a rule, every 30 semester (45 quarter) hours of college work is equivalent to one year of experience. Must obtain Level II DAWIA certification in Systems Planning, Research, Development, and Engineering (SPRDE) within 24 months. Highly Desired Skills QUALIFICATION CRITERIA: In addition to the mandatory qualifications, experience in the following is desired: 1. Possessing a range of technical certifications, such as: (a) Higher level network-related certifications (e.g., CCNP, CCIE, JNCP, JNCIE, etc.); (b) higher level platform-related certifications (e.g., MCSA, MCSE, MCSD, MCP, RHCD, RJDS, RHCS, LPIC-2, LPIC-3, VCP, VCAP, SNIA, etc.); or (c) higher level systems-related certifications (e.g., ESEP, CSEP, AWS); 2. Experience in enterprise software test development, Service as a Solution, cloud computing distributed systems, database internal, analytics, and/or Systems Architecture; 3. Familiarization with Big Data, Search Cybersecurity, Test and Evaluation (T&E) and/or Cloud technologies; 4. Demonstrated systems engineering project experience (requirements development, requirements management, design, or verification) within a DoD program; 5. Demonstrated experience in modern languages for software development, modern computing, data storage solutions, parallel programming, and /or network programming such as PERL, Python, C/C++, Ruby, JavaScript, and/or MatLab; 6.
